After a pandemic pause, ALFA is happy to announce that once again we will be hosting our annual fundraiser - Farm Art - at Steve’s Place on April 25, 2024. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for ALFA’s program, the Foothills Area Harm Reduction Mission (the Farm), as well as promote awareness about overdose and substance use disorder in our community.

Since its launch in 2018, the Farm has provided overdose prevention/response education, naloxone kits, community referrals for support, and safer drug use supplies to prevent HIV, Hepatitis C and other harmful consequences of drug use. We are now providing services to over 400 people monthly.

In 2023, the Farm provided 4,500 services to over 1500 individuals, including over 3,200 overdose reversal kits, with 635 reversals reported to us. This is in addition to ALFA’s other services: case management and financial assistance to people living with HIV, testing and linkage to care for HIV, Hep C and STIs and PrEP/PEP. All told, ALFA provides direct services to almost 3,500 individuals every year and conducts more than 100 sexual health education programs.

Unfortunately because of the high need, Harm Reduction programs across the country often struggle with securing funding for this important work. Further complicating this is a federal regulation prohibiting ALFA from spending much of the funding we do receive on supplies vital to providing services (naloxone, syringes, etc.). We rely almost exclusively on private donations to provide funding for the supplies needed for this work.

We have set an ambitious goal of raising $10,000, and hope you will support us in achieving it!
